Hunger Action Month: September
September is Hunger Action Month! Every year, Feeding America leads this campaign to raise awareness and inspire the public to take action on behalf of people facing the impossible choice of hunger.
Did you know that 48% of all households in Jackson either live in poverty or earn just above the federal poverty level but not enough to make ends meet?
This month, we invite you to join us in the fight against hunger! You can take action by donating, volunteering, or participating in an upcoming event.
Here’s how you can take action:
- Donate online – Donations can be directed to a specific ministry by writing a note in the comment section.
- Donate by mail – if you prefer to mail your donation, please send it to P.O. Box 2301, Jackson TN 38302-2301.
- Donate in person – if you’d like to donate in person, whether it be funds, food, or other items, visit us at 133 Airways Blvd in Jackson, open Monday-Saturday from 9am-5pm.
- Volunteer – volunteers are needed at RIFA Monday-Saturday. Contact Tracie Barnard, Volunteer Coordinator, at tbarnard@rifajackson.org or 731-421-7963 to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
- Fundraise – take advantage of Bus Banks! Will your organization match the funds you raise? Contact Denice Walton at dwalton@rifajackson.org or 731-427-7963 for more information.

- Shop on Amazon – by shopping our wishlists, items are sent directly to RIFA – Community Outreach List – Snack Backpack List – Soup Kitchen List
