Canstruction 2023: An Evening with The Cleverlys
RIFA is thrilled to announce Canstruction 2023: An Evening with The Cleverlys, presented by Foundation Bank. The 18th annual event will be held on Thursday, September 28th, 2023, at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.
The Cleverlys are a one-of-a-kind comedy/music blend. Digger Cleverly and his nephews, Lloyd, DVD, Bear, and Quattro, make up The Cleverlys. They tour nationally, performing at music venues, performing arts centers, and some of the nation’s largest festivals like Stagecoach, Telluride, CMA Music Fest, and even The Grand Ole Opry. Don’t be fooled by this faux-family band—they are all accomplished musicians putting their unique bluegrass spin on cover songs from any genre.
In this design competition, Jackson-based businesses, churches, schools, and organizations form teams to showcase their talents by creating giant sculptures entirely out of unopened cans of food on September 26th. All the canned food used to make the structures is later donated to RIFA for distribution to people in need. At the Canstruction gala on the 28th, the structures are on display for guests to view the teams’ creative efforts toward RIFA’s mission. The gala also includes a formal dinner, awards ceremony, and entertainment by The Cleverlys.
Doors open for the event at 6:00pm, with dinner served at 6:45pm, awards presented at 7:15pm, and The Cleverlys performing at 7:45pm.
