On the second Saturday in May, the National Association of Letter Carriers host the nation’s largest single-day food drive at post offices throughout the country. The Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive across America provides assistance for the millions of Americans who are struggling to put food on their tables every day.
Postal customers asked to place non-perishable food items either inside or next to their mailbox before the letter carrier delivers the mail. The food collected will be donated to the RIFA Food Bank. All food donations are then repacked and redistributed to the community and emergency food programs to help individuals and families in need.
